I’ve got expectations Coming out my ears Prayers and supplications For the best night of the year I’ve been the perfect little angel A cherub to the tip I’ll be the first to tell ya Once or twice I might have slipped I’ve done my best to spread good cheer To every girl and boy Cuz what awaits when that day comes Is a mountain made of toys Now if you care to listen Just open up your ears It may sound like superstition But if you’re good this year You know the old man’s watching Sees if you’ve been bad Then you’d sure be sorry Then you’d sure be sad So don’t forget to spread the news To every girl and boy That if you’re good till that day comes There’s a mountain made of toys If you’re feeling worried Just leave it up to me The less you know, the better Just know I can intercede Cuz I got the old man’s number I’ll get him on the line For just a small donation Of 19.99 What’s a few allowances To guarantee the joy Cuz if you follow me, you know There’s a mountain made of toys Now some other kids are sayin’ My message isn’t true That parents buy your presents Just out of love for you The old man’s disappointed We haven’t spread the cheer He’ll put us on the naughty list And skip us till next year If we don’t put an end to those Divisive girls and boys Then you can bet we’ll never be On that mountain made of toys

This is my house I must defend her Within and without And never surrender It sure seems to me But how could it be That home is an island in the sea Surrounded by nothing but enemies Now don’t come apart It’s only them messing with your heart There’s in and there’s out But don’t forget there’s no room for doubt How can I help but throw up my hands Deliver me from this fallow land What is the good in doing all I can If I save the house, but lose the man. Is it just me, How could it be That home is an island in the sea Surrounded by all these enemies What can I say, the rot and fray Have gotten out of hand What I thought was the sea is just dry land All I’ve got is a house built on the sand From what I can see those enemies All have disappeared They’re just a construct of my fear Assuming that they were even here. Don’t look now the outside is leaking in Revealing the cracks the walls are thing Don’t panic they want things to look this way Just push up the walls it’s all okay. How bad could it be Comparatively It’s gotta be worse out there for me If it feels wrong, You’re already gone, No faith, no doubt you’re in you’re out It’s plain to see But how could it be This house is a beast devouring me And slowly consumes all I can see What can I say This slow decay sure has got me down The fear and the faith got turned around I just can’t pretend it’s solid ground I’m sorry to say I’m still afraid push has come to shove Jesus show me how to love A little advice from up above To the child in me Confused and sad with all he sees The house is not the family And love can be found wherever you may be How could I know The seeds will grow without letting go Jesus this was quite a show I’m not giving up, but I’m taking it slow

Jingle Bells 02:19
Dashing through the snow On a one horse open sleigh O'er the fields we go, Laughing all the way Bells on bob tail ring, making spirits bright What fun it is to laugh and sing A sleighing song tonight Oh, jingle bells, jingle bells Jingle all the way Oh, what fun it is to ride In a one horse open sleigh Jingle bells, jingle bells Jingle all the way Oh, what fun it is to ride In a one horse open sleigh A day or two ago, I thought I'd take a ride, And soon Miss Fanny Bright Was seated by my side; The horse was lean and lank Misfortune seemed his lot We got into a drifted bank, And then we got upsot. Oh, jingle bells, jingle bells Jingle all the way Oh, what fun it is to ride In a one horse open sleigh Jingle bells, jingle bells Jingle all the way Oh, what fun it is to ride In a one horse open sleigh Now the ground is white Go it while you're young Take the girls tonight And sing this sleighing song Just get a bob tailed bay two-forty as his speed Hitch him to an open sleigh And crack! you'll take the lead Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the way! Oh, What fun it is to ride In a one horse open sleigh. Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the way! Oh, What fun it is to ride In a one horse open sleigh.

Christmas Seems so pretty when you’re small Mythical and magical But when you grow And things you know No longer enthrall Where did all the prettiness go? Listen It’s okay to reminisce Think about the things you miss But don’t expect to resurrect The same old bliss You’re older now and what was once familiar is strange So you reify tradition That is immunized from change A fetish reconstructed From the memories you’ve drawn Truth is every Christmas That has ever been is gone Christmas It’s disappointing when you try You hold on tight, then wonder why What you conserve so well preserved Has all but died Listen You don’t need to forget the past There’s beauty in the things that last Just don’t appeal to the ideal It’s fading fast You worry over all that you perceive atrophy But you still mistake the message For the iconography The comfort of hegemony Has all but come undone But every single Christmas That has ever been is gone Here we are just as in the olden days Well not quite as in olden days No , not anymore Tonight Tonight is not a silent night There’s no chestnuts on the fire tonight No carols on the radio Tonight there’s no silver bells ringing There’s no jingle bells ringing No parum pum pum pum Tonight I don’t hear what you hear I don’t see what you see I don’t know what you know This year If Christmas isn’t white No more boughs of holly I don’t think I’ll mind This year I’m tired of being scared I’m tired of being angry I’m so tired This year We just might not feel the joy We might be just feeling lonely But we don’t have to be alone What’s the point Of saying merry Christmas If we don’t love one another If we don’t love ourselves This year we should love ourselves And give our love to others Give our love away Familiarity won’t keep things Getting out of hand It’s that challenging perspective Subjectivity demands A naïve historicity Can’t ground the path you’re on Though every single Christmas That has ever been is gone We don’t have to burn it all down Perhaps there’s something we can build upon
